American Corgis are an exciting developing breed. They were created by crossing the Cardigan Welsh Corgi and Pembroke Welsh Corgi. With this cross and selective breeding, this new breed is focusing on putting the best characteristics of both breeds forward. From the unique merle and brindle patterns originally seen in Cardigans as well as their squarer build to keeping a more Pembroke-style body with a smaller overall size, the American Corgi is truly the best of both worlds.
